MTN South Africa is winning over the hearts of existing and new customers by delivering attractive data bundles and digital services.
The country’s second largest mobile phone operator announced on Thursday that more customers we using its data and digital services.
MTN South Africa reported improved profitability reflecting a 9.5% rise in EBITDA (earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation) for the year to end-December 2017.
The mobile phone operator said its total revenue rose 3% to R42.5 billion, while service revenue was up 3.9%, boosted by strong growth in data and digital revenue.
The South African operation of MTN group said data revenue increased by 25.8% and digital revenue was up 22.3%.
The increased investment in the network resulted in MTN South Africa having the leading data network in the country, the company said.
